Going Outside

I did a bit of plein air painting in the last week of February. I joined the Riverside Art Museum (RAM), the Plein Air Artists of Riverside (PAAR), and signed up for the annual Paint Out for 2009.

Not being a particularly skilled people-person, everyone in the group made me feel welcome and secure enough to paint in public for a week.

In the "Quick Draw" competition held on Saturday, February 28, 2009 I won an award for Best Use of Color for the following watercolor painting:

"Blue Door"

15" x 11" watercolor on Arches CP#140 - (c) 2009 Greg Conley

Best Use of Color - PAAR Paint Out 2009 Quick Draw competition

The competition was judged by artist David Solomon of Laguna Beach, CA.

Visit  PAAR  and  RAM just for the fun of it.

Thanks everyone!

See ya later.
